Photo Emulation
My portrait photographer is Dennis E. Hamilton. This photograph was taken in Sunnyvale, California. This photo was taken on October 7th, 2007. There is really no background in this photo, this is because he shot the photo so close to the subject. Dennis is not a commercial photographer, he does his work simply to be an "artist". He enjoys taking photographs. His main subjects are portraits. He uses anything from animals to people. I choose Dennis because I enjoyed the photograph that he took. I love cats so when I saw this photo i had to recreate it.
To recreate this photo i first had to find the correct subject matter. Once I had a black cat i then had to think more drastically about the photos details. The original photo was taken up close, this meant I was going to have to go through many takes of trying to keep the cat still while trying to take the photo. Doing so was very complicated. I had a lot of trouble keeping the cat still, especially the eye. Also, since the photo was taken so close when trying to recreate it, many blurry photos were taken. I could have improved this photograph by using a macro lense on my camera. A macro lense is made for up close subject matters. I enjoyed trying to recreate Dennis' photograph, I thought it was a challenge. This shows how Dennis must have needed a lot of patients and talent to take this photograph.
